Platform update OCT 2020 Blog

You may not know it but at DevSkiller, we’ve been working hard to improve our platform over the past year, growing our team and working to make it better. We’ve been expanding our efforts stabilizing the platform and bringing a ton of new features that will help you improve your Tech recruitment. Here are a few.

We’ve made video pair programming a breeze to use

code pair_1It’s more important than ever to have a full suite of communication tools, that you can use to learn about your candidates, wherever they are. At the same time, you need to get a complete understanding of their software development skills. DevSkiller has had a remote pair-programming function with a video in chat function for a long time. But now, this feature is even better.

We’ve made the whole process of holding a video pair programming interview seamless by eliminating the need for you to open up an external video or screen sharing feature. Instead, you just turn it on and start working with your candidate. This means you can focus on your candidate and not your tool.

Automated iOS builds in the cloud test your candidates on real hardware

One of the pillars of RealLifeTestingTM is the fact that DevSkiller coding tests get as close as possible to real-world situations. For a while, we have had very realistic iOS coding tests but now we’ve improved the builds to make them even closer to what your candidate will see on the job.

DevSkiller iOS test now uses real hardware for software designed to run on Apple products like phones and desktop computers. It will make the whole process of coding for iOS a lot more pleasurable for your candidates and generally more insightful for you.

Flutter support brings DevSkiller testing to Google’s UI ecosystem

If you do any recruitment for front end or mobile developers, you’re probably going to encounter Flutter at some point. Flutter is Google’s UI toolkit for building beautiful natively compiled applications for mobile, web, and desktop using a single code base.

Flutter developers are able to create user interfaces across multiple devices modalities. You can now test candidates developing Flutter, with all projects built and tested in the cloud.

Support for Salesforce development tasks is finally here

If you have any connection to the revenue side of your business, you’ll know that Salesforce made the seriously unsexy task of managing relationships with your customers incredibly easy and powerful. As one of the leading CRM systems out there, you’ll find Salesforce across many businesses. Its near-infinite opportunities for customization have created an ecosystem for a strong cohort of programmers who can unlock the true power of the platform.

Our new Salesforce programming tasks allowed candidates to write and test SOQL queries against real Salesforce instances. This means that they’ll be able to see if their solutions work as if they were plugged into the actual platform.

Our Slack integration just keeps getting better

SlackDid you use Slack? Probably most offices do these days. As the go-to messaging platform for most enterprises big and small, one of the huge advantages of Slack is its integrations. Your workflows from most outside tools can be integrated directly into the application you open every morning to communicate with your team.

You can now customize fine-grain privileges choosing which candidates and applications are delegated to which channel or recruiter. This means that the specific person on your team you can send DevSkiller updates, accept candidates, and send tests to the candidates that they are concerned with.

DevSkiller has a new API and it will blow your socks off
