What to look for in a Laravel developer
Laravel is a free, open-source PHP web application framework with expressive syntax created by Taylor Otwell in June 2011. It follows the MVC (Model View Controller) structure which makes it easy to understand and use for prototyping web applications.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to set up a DevSkiller Laravel assessment test?
DevSkiller’s expert team has already done the hard work so you don’t have to. Your first Laravel coding test can be sent out in as little as 5 minutes. Our testing platform comes ready with an extensive library of predefined Laravel tests so you just need to select one and you’re ready to start testing.
What do you do about plagiarism?
A main concern of clients is whether or not test results can be manipulated. DevSkiller implements several different strict anti-plagiarism measures to ensure cheating simply cannot happen.
We implement screen recording procedures that flag if a user is looking at a different screen during the test. We also use social listening tools, perform checks on each candidate’s IP address, and use live pair notifications. We automatically cross-check any entered code, with that of each answer ever provided in our database. If there is a match, we can be sure that the person has cheated and their test will be automatically flagged.
What is the RealLifeTestingTM methodology?
The RealLifeTestingTM is at the heart of all DevSkiller Laravel assessment tests and interview questions. Instead of traditional game-like quizzes or algorithmic puzzles that often don’t challenge a developer’s actual development skills, we implement a testing method that mirrors the actual work developers are required to do on a daily basis. We reflect a developer’s everyday work life back at them and ask them to perform just as they would during their actual workday. That way, there is no faking. Either they have the skills required, or they don’t.
This provides a rounded view of each applicant’s level of skill. To pass, candidates must demonstrate their knowledge of coding, their understanding of resources like Stack Overflow, as well as possess the critical thinking needed to determine the best solutions. Results are then automatically generated, meaning there is no pressure on your in-house developers to have to grade hundreds of screening tests.
Do I need to be a programmer to use DevSkiller?
It is not always programmers who are responsible for hiring developers. In fact, a lot of the time it is HR recruiters doing the work. Someone who is not a developer can’t be expected to possess the same knowledge as someone who is, so our tests reflect that. Our ready-to-use tests have been designed by our own IT experts to allow non-technical users to be able to verify the technical skills of candidates without needing the help of developers. If you do have a technical person involved in the recruiting process, then you can prepare a test from scratch if you prefer, but this isn’t necessary.
